WHO ARE YOU GUYS?

  • Sean Allan - Sean was born in 1976 in Chico, Ca.  He remains in Northern California, and he has dedicated his life to art and sloth.  He holds a PhD in English.  He is interested in representations of violent men; his favorite violent man of the recent past is Laurence Fishburne's Jump in Abel Ferrara's King of New York in film, Joe Lon Mackey in Harry Crews' A Feast of Snakes in literature, and the work of Big L, Inspectah Deck and Pharoahe Monche in music.  He is also interested in Asian film generally and the influence of Asian film on American culture in particular.  His favorite movie of the recent past is Im Sang-soo's A Good Lawyer's Wife .  He's also a fanatic for The Wire , going so far as to work locally to record as many versions of "Down in the Hole" as possible to ensure limitless seasons of that series.  He is married, with one daughter. His other hobby is basketball.

  • Jim Magovern – A film critic and writer, Jim can also be read at The Moviezzz Blog. While he may state that his favorite filmmakers are Eric Rohmer, Billy Wilder and other serious filmmakers, he has seen GREASE 2 well over one hundred times.

  • Lucas McNelly - A native of the great state of Maine, Lucas somehow ended up in Pittsburgh, where he runs the film collective d press Productions and proudly defends the New England Patriots in the face of hostile Steelers fans city-wide. When not struggling to get films made, he writes about them at his blog 100 films which, according to Statcounter, is regularly read by film aficionados all over the world. His primary focus at Talking Moviezzz is the Uber-Indie Project--an effort to critique unknown filmmakers and promote their work to a larger audience.

  • Adam Ross - Adam Ross is a newspaper man in Idaho, the last of a dying -- some say dead -- breed. His Giant Robot Project was recently put on hiatus due to lack of advertising funds.  You can read his blog at DVD Panache.
